Well, If It Ain't Spring, It'll Do 'ntil A Real Spring Comes Along

Yesterday we went up to a balmy 54 degrees. I wore shorts and a tee-shirt, with topsiders and no socks, taking my daughter to school in the morning, even though the temperature was still in the 30s. And I threw my winter coat in the garbage.

And, yes, we're watching "No Country For Old Men".

It has been a full six weeks since the Official Groundhog, Punxsutawney Phil, saw his shadow -- an almost inevitable occurance, due to teh television lights -- and predicted six more weeks of winter, so spring should be here now.

I had to pick up my darling bride and our older daughter at the Philadelphia airport yesterday; they had been in Orlando for the past week. Even tough it was almost 60ยบ F in foul, fetid, fuming, foggy, filthy Philadelphia, they were combitching that it was cold -- since it had been in the eighties in Florida.

During their layover in Charlotte, home of the wonderful Sister Toldjah they heard a boarding call for a flight to Aruba; they said they were tempted to take it instead.
