Is Blogging Mainly Whining?

About the context of a story, about the way the story is reported, about the media outlet that published it, about another blogger's treatment of the story? Sure seems that way to me.

Man up and do your own original reporting.

I prefer to play the devil's advocate-- or to take a story that they got off the AP feed, do some research, add some links and put that up....

My theory is by no means monolithic or invariable. For example, SayUncle, one of my favorite sites, is nothing like that. He is an aggregator of stories he thinks we'll like and keeps the editorializing to a reason why he thinks we'll like them. Instapundit, too.

On my part, I started my blog for an online identity and lately prefer to post my poetry and pictures and pictures friends send me, rather than commenting on events.

Reporting? I just make up stories and post pictures - I am my own MSM. :-)

I'm not a whiner! Why are people always calling me a whiner? It's so unfair. Why can't people be nicer instead of always saying mean things like calling me a whiner when I'm not? I'm a serious editorialist. Life just isn't fair. I try so hard to write good blog posts and all I get in return is ingratitude and rudeness. I hate it when people call me a whiner. I'm not a whiner.

Good observation.

There are a few bloggers who blog original stuff. I don't mean 'here's what I had for lunch' but actual 'here's what's happening in my professional world that you want to read about'.

That's more challenging than just carping about the ample limitations we see in others.
