What's Important
Me: I need to go shave and shower.
Wife: Why now?
Me: Because I have an appointment with [my dental hygienist].
Daughter: Daddy, no. You need to brush your teeth. When you go to [your dental hygienist] you need to brush your teeth. Not shower. Brush your teeth.

Is it possible that you don't have a history of brushing your teeth when you shower and shave? :)
However, I understand completely the need to be at your most presentable when you visit the dental hygenist. Mine's about 40, a real redhead, about 5'10", fantastic body, killer smile, gorgeous but unusual eyes -- one blue and one hazel -- and if I weren't already married, I'd have married her by now!
Nope. I do brush and floss according to my dental hygienist's befehl.
My wife took it to a different direction: "The daughter is right. Just what do you and [your dental hygienist] do that you need to shave and shower?"
