I agree with the author's point. And, in my view, the PLO was never more than a bunch of aggressive panhandlers. No guts or ability to do more than alternatively beg from the strong and bully the helpless. The world could have squashed it like a sick bug, anytime. Unfortunately, besides Israel, only King Hussein of Jordan had the guts to truly stand up to it and then he only transferred the problem to Lebanon. Well, who knows, the world might wake up sometime.
